SpecificFeeds and Additional Icons

  • Great plugin!

    I have a couple of questions. First, I noticed the new SpecificFeeds URL, but how does this work? No icon is displayed in the group of icons on my blog. What should a visitor do to subscribe via email?

    Also, you mention additional icons. Do you have an iTunes or Podcast icon? I’d be happy to make a donation to get that added if possible.

    Update and requests…

    Firstly, the mail icon is now displaying, but it contains a mailto link, so when people actually click on the email icon, an email opens with the https://www.specificfeeds.com/follow URL in the To field.

    If this was intentional, with all due respect, it’s not a very good idea. I have created a SpecificFeed account, and now have a URL for people to visit to subscribe to my blog (below) but adding this to your plugin’s email field doesn’t help. It still opens in an email.

    Also, I cannot remove the https://www.specificfeeds.com/follow string from your plugin. This means that I currently have an email link in my group of icons that doesn’t work. Please fix this.

    Finally, your rrs.png icon doesn’t load on case sensitive system servers. I had to change the filename to rss.png to make this image load. Please either update your code to reference the uppercase name, or make the filename lowercase so that I don’t have to update this with every plugin update.

    Sorry for the multiple posts. I meant to add that it would be great if you can just change the email subscription icon so that it just jumps to the SpecificFeeds URL rather than creating a mailto: link.

    seems like you are using old plugin. i have updated the code on monday. Please Download Latest plugin and try it.

    i knew that issue and i did that. Please Download the Latest Plugin.

    so you need Both iTunes and Podcast sure i will add both icons in it and send it to you.

    My blog says that I have version 2.0.0. Is there a way to get a newer version?

    Just a Podcast link will be enough, thanks. I’ll use the WordPress contact form to mail you my email address straight after this. If you could send your email address, I’ll send you a graphic to show you what I mean.
