Special Characters Problem?

I installed the plug-in and tried it for the first time, and on the very first shortened URL, it doesn’t work. It seems like the dollar signs in the link are getting stored, but when I use the shortened URL, it uses the stored URL but without the dollar signs so it fails. Here is the URL:
