• Greetings,

I have an issue with hackers putting scripts on my sites.I’m cleaning up every day using WordFence, and I have MLS running on all my sites involved, but this keeps coming up. My host sends me warnings that 1000 mails are being sent from a folder which shouldn’t even be mailing at all. When looking, there is indeed usually a script.

All plugins are up to date (I removed those reported as “possibly abandoned”)

    – What else can I do to keep my site clean? I am running out of ideas.
    – Is there some way for me to just block the whole uploads folder from sending emails?
    – As a matter of fact, can I just block everything from mailing, except those scripts which are meant for mails (new user and such?)

Carefully follow this guide. Cleaning up the symptoms isn’t enough, you have to find how they’re getting in too. The guide will walk you through the most likely vectors.

When you’re done, you may want to implement some (if not all) of the recommended security measures.

I have been following that guide, and have reached the point “Leveraging the community”.

I’ve got pretty much everything done, yet scripts continue to keep appearing….
