• I have a nice signup security protection, so, spammers never get in. But they never stop trying. For the past month, all traffic on the “register” page cost me 3000MB bandwidth. Is it normal? Is there a way I can get rid of them?

  • Don’t use bad behavior. This is simpler and also speeds up your website. It’s free, too. Use CloudFlare. This will eliminate your spam and take load off your server by caching your website.

Cloud flare isn’t a spam stopping tool last I checked. Bad behavior works fine.

Actually, I haven’t had 1 spam comment on any of my blogs since I activated CloudFlare. I used to have at least 100 a day on one of my blogs. It stops web spammers from even getting to your website, so in effect, it is a spam stopping tool (along with other perks).

@Irastart, thanks for the information. I checked the CloudFlare, it looks promissing. I will try it. Not sure if it suit for BuddyPress, coz CloudFlare uses cache (they said they cache only css and js), buddypress has many contents that need to be updated dynamiclly.
