• So a lot of the spammers out there think they’re really clever and they can just spam and spam and spam their websites using generic comments like “Great post, I’d have to try that”

Except that with my blog, it’s easy to spot it; you see, I run a link exchange blog and when people say that somebody’s website ad is a great and informative piece that they just have to try out, it just seems a bit… funny.

The biggest problem about these spammers is that they can just easily take a minute to place an ad, make a link and just have their ad/link posted. So this got me thinking that they’re probably using some sort of bot. If so, what kinds of bots do they use and how do I go about getting myself one of those humanity test boxes?

    Thanks!

There are thousands of such bots out there. If you want to block them, use this plugin. If you want to use of them for your own purposes, you’ll have to figure that out on your own.

    1) Aktivate Akismet plugin
    2) Plugin that macmanx posted.
    3) WP-Spam Free Plugin.
    4) Set all comments have to be moderated first before it appears
