    I am using WP3.0.1 , BP1.2.6 , with Asismet and Badbehavior installed.
    yesterday, I got 20 spammers registered on my blog, and each of them created a blog. I deleted them, and put their IP in host’s “Banned IP”;
    Today when I wake up, I got another 20 spammers and their blogs again.
    So, I have to change WP option to be “logged in user may register blog”, this makes visitors can’t signup.
    luckily those spammers didn’t do anything harm so far.

    I want my blog can be freely signup and can create blog after they logged in as a member.
    What can I do to enable visitor registering and block spammers?

    I used to have same problem when opened my website to register and I use to have lots of spam signup and they were activated that make me wonder how they activate but them bots have a way.

    After lots trial with different plugins

    BP 1.2.6 is this buddypress if so I am using Buddypress Humanity
    plugin

    and now just do not have any spam signups as they have to answer a question that only human can answer.

    Best part is that you can set own question and answer.

    Yes, I’m using BuddyPress, gonna install this Buddypress Humanity.
    Thanks!
    By the way, during those spammer registering time, my blog was running very slow. I guess their activities are consumming my hosting resources. Is there any security settings to block theme on my hosting side before they try anything on my blog?
