Spambots and Search Engines

Hi all,

When you uncheck “Disallow Comments” on pages will this prevent Spambots from commenting? I disabled the comment code on the back end of page.php but they still get through somehow. Akismet does a good job, but we still get quite a bunch each month.

Also when you mark a page or post as “Private” does the Search Engines still crawl them, and if people have the URL will they see them?
