    Hello,

Known topic, emails containing image links from within “wp-content” (/uploads) are downgraded by SpamAssasin by >2 points.

Emails with no images score 10/10 ??

I would like to bypass this downgrading by using image links in MailPoet from outside “wp-content”, preferable from for example STATIC.mydomain.com

This seems not possible as when manually inputting such an image link it is not stored…

    Any workaround?

    Thank you for your feedback.

    With best regards,

    ShadowHunter

    Hi there @therealshadowhunter,

    Thanks for reaching out!

Using images from “wp-content” (uploads) might not be necessarily what’s affecting your spam score.

The way you are using images on your newsletters could more the cause.

Can you please take a look at this article and review if you are following the image-to-text best practices described in the 3. Avoid sending image-heavy emails section?

    Hi Gui A. a11n,

    Thanks for your response.

Alas, it are the images that cause the negative impact. The same mail without images is scored 10/10 in mail-tester.com. Seems the IP I’m sending from was marked has “hacked” for the “wp-content” folder.

I know it is likely a false positive but can only judge a large part of my receivers claim my mail is arriving in there spam-folder.

There are only 2 images, a logo and social logo’s, a plenty of text.

Hence my request to avoid the “wp-content” folder.

Again, thank you for sharing your inside.

    With best regards,

    Hi @therealshadowhunter

There are only 2 images, a logo and social logo’s, a plenty of text.

If you’re referring to the URI_WP_HACKED item detected by SpamAssassin, it is a false-positive and we’re aware of it. As per best practices, we load images remotely from your site via the WordPress Media Library (wp-content) and it gets incorrectly flagged. We don’t have any plans to change that anytime soon and it’s not possible to add external images to the MailPoet newsletter editor.

It may affect the spam score but you can safely ignore it. If you feel something else is affecting your deliverability and sending the emails to the Spam folder, we strongly recommend setting up a DKIM for your Sender’s domain: How to Set Up DKIM for your Sender Domain

    Thank you!

    Hello Bruna,

Thank you for your feedback and clear statement.

Alas, I have already taken all text book measures and precautions so I guess I have to dig in deeper to hopefully figure out why my mails go straight to SPAM.

Should I find a solution I’ll post it here.

    With best regards,

    ShadowHunter
