  • Hi,
How are people signing up? For a newsletter or blog updates or as a user etc?

I had lots of spammers trying to sign in so I changed the user profile to prevent it but then I am the only author on my site so I just disabled the ability for others to register under settings/general (unclick anyone can register)

But I am afraid that spam is a part of being a webmaster! I get hundreds of brute force attacks every day on my site but you just take steps to ensure they can’t get in.

    Cheers

They are signing up by the bbpress widget or sign up page that I created and even with captcha they are registering!!!

but when I disbale the register box no one registers but I am the only admin so idk what’s going on

Incidentally, do you have akismet activated?

Try follow this tips to help protect your site and you would reduce your spam sign ups. Also try using a wordpress security plugin like wordfence to secure your site.
