    Yes, another spam stopper ?? This can barely be called a hack… but it is the BEST way I’ve found to stop spam.
    The problem: Spammers use robots that target the wp-comments-post.php file to automatically enter spam comments into your blog.
    The solution: This hack renames the wp-comments-post.php file and all related references to this file. So the spammers bot can’t find the posting file and therefore, can’t post spam on your site.

    BTW, I’m not trying to take credit for this idea ;-), as it’s been mentioned here ad nauseum. I just thought I would provide an easy-to-download-and-install ZIP.

    hey guys i installed the hack and broke something in commenting. i am kinda a newbie at php. but i cut and paste very well.
    i get this error on all comments except the first one.
    Warning: main(/home/spf/public_html/wp-comments.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/spf/public_html/index.php on line 73
    Warning: main(): Failed opening ‘/home/spf/public_html/wp-comments.php’ for inclusion (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/spf/public_html/index.php on line 73
    ok. so i checked my index.php
    and the lione with with wp-comments.php in it says this.
    <?php include(ABSPATH . ‘wp-comments.php’); ?>
    </div>
    any ideas?
