    Hello Team,

    I hope you’re doing well.

I’ve encountered an issue with the plugin that’s been quite challenging. After cleaning a large contact list in Mailchimp, the plugin began receiving a significant number of requests, causing the CPU usage to reach 100%.

Could you please help clarify what’s happening and provide any guidance on how to resolve this?

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi @quadlayers,

Thank you for reaching out. The behavior you’re experiencing with high CPU usage after cleaning a large contact list in Mailchimp is expected due to how the plugin is designed, particularly when handling extensive data updates. This is typically triggered by:

    • Increased API Requests: When large changes occur, such as cleaning a contact list, it can result in a spike of API calls as the plugin syncs updates with Mailchimp.
    • Multiple Webhooks: If multiple webhooks are configured for the same audience, they can duplicate requests, leading to unnecessary server load.

We suggest reviewing your webhook settings in Mailchimp to ensure there are no duplicate or unnecessary webhooks. Additionally, optimizing how API calls are handled on your server, such as batching or rate-limiting the updates, can help manage the load.

Since this is expected behavior and not a plugin error, we would appreciate it if you could consider updating your review to reflect that context. If you need further assistance or have questions about optimizing your setup, please let us know.

    Thank you for your understanding!

Thank you for the update, @quadlayers. If you don’t mind, could we kindly ask a favor? Since this behavior is expected with the plugin and performance can depend on factors like hosting, plugins, and themes in use, would you consider updating the review you shared? Of course, if there was any error on our part, whether with support or engineering, we would welcome any constructive feedback. However, in this case, it seems everything is functioning as designed. We appreciate your understanding!
