    PLEASE SOMEONE HELP!!
    I’m getting a huge amount of spam: something that goes like “Cool site. Thanks.” but with very naughty words for the user-names. What can I do to filter these comments out??

    Try the Akismet plugin. It saves me from up to hundreds of spam hits a day. So far, I have not had any make it past, and no false positives either. (I’m up to around 7000 spams caught, not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but the results have been 100% for me).

    I get tons of attempted entries just like what you get, and most now seem to be linked to diowebhost.com, which seems to be set up to allow even robot account initiation. Akismet has saved me from having to delete these myself!

    hi. thanks for your prompt reply! I have just activated the askimet plugin. I’m hoping it’ll work!! fingers crossed!
