• I’ve emailed the author via the comment form on his website but since I haven’t heard back I thought I’d post here as well.

Using SK2 and love it. Very powerful. My problem is I can’t seem to moderate comments anymore. I currently have comments disabled via WP because of some annoying and harmless (but inappropriate) comments on my school blog:

    https://www.ncs-tech.org

    … which have been deleted.

To SK2’s credit, I was able to easily block the IP of the offending poster(s) and the problem has subsided. But the fact remains: I want to know if I can have SK2 running *AND* have comment moderation wherein I get to see and approve everything.

I thought I’d checked all the settings but must have missed something.

    Thanks, kj

  • drDave is currently moving from Japan to France so that’s why you’ve probably had no response.
This is not answer, but are you using Bad-Behaviour as well as SK2 ?

SK2 bypasses the WordPress comment moderation system. The plugin mentioned here should should re-enable it.

Thanks for the 411, Podz, yes, BB rocks with SK2 on my blogs, using them both at your suggestion, actually! ??

IanD, you are the best, exactly what I needed. Bookmarked! Thank you!

I am delighted with the performance and power of BB & SK2 but was dismayed when a someone decided to post garden-variety cusswords into some postings. This is the perfect solution.

    Have a great day everyone,

My plugin that IanD mention will help you by ensuring that the following WordPress core options are enforced by SK2 on top of it’s usual array of checks.

    • “An administrator must approve the comment (regardless of any matches below)?? (under Options … Discussion)
    • “Comment author must have a previously approved comment?? ( also under Options … Discussion)

The first of these is what will probably help you the most.

If you have any issues with my plugin feel free to contact me via the comments on the plugin’s page or the contact form on my site.
