    I have major spam issues. I do have captcha activated but it seems like it can’t prevent fake subscribers – all of them submitted by bots. I did try several plugins for MailChimp integration and still getting a lot of false subscriptions.
    Is there any improvement/implementation in the PRO version?
    Any advice on this will be really appreciated!

    I had the same issue with my site, lots of spam, but since I installed goodbyecaptcha everything was blocked by this plugin.
    Besides the fact that blocks the spambots I have no captcha on my widget. That’s amazing!
    I think that the author of MailChimp for WordPress should specify somewhere, at least in FAQ page, that there is such plugin that offers protection for spambots without using captcha image.

    Also having these issues, especially lately. I just added the BWS CAPTCHA plugin and will see if that helps. BTW, have double opt-in already enabled.

    Hi all,

    There are various ways to prevent bots from subscribing.

    1) Install the BWS Captcha plugin and include {captcha} in your form mark-up, where you want the CAPTCHA field to appear.

    2) Enable double opt-in. This really should stop most bots from subscribing, as no bot will click the confirmation link.

    3) Install the Goodbye Captcha plugin which offer an integration with MailChimp for WordPress. This way you don’t even have to show a CAPTCHA in your sign-up form.

    Thank you for your suggestion. It’s been a week since I install GoodbyeCaptcha and works like a charm. No false subscriptions at all. Finally something that really works!

    Goodbye captcha is not working for me. It says its for the lite version, I have the pro version of this plugin. I need help – I’m getting a ton of these spam signups.

    I was getting more than 100 fake signups daily and I installed GoodBye captcha. Several days ago I’ve contacted the author and asking if he can help me with the pro version of mail chimp. He was so kind and emailed me a new version of goodbyecaptcha which is not yet in repository. Since then the fake signups stopped dropped to zero. This plugin is amazing and the developer is very helpful with any questions.
    He also mentioned that the changes for the PRO version of mailchimp for WP will be available in next release.
