• My email list goes to universities, and they set a high bar for deliverability. For the past 2+ years, Mailpoet has been telling us to remove the social icons in an email to avoid the result of:
-2.499 URI_WP_HACKED_2 URI for compromised WordPress site, possible malware

But perhaps instead, Mailpoet can fix the structure of your email code so it doesn’t trigger this result, making my emails undeliverable?

    Hi there @lbdesign,

Thanks for reaching out on this. It is true that the configuration of your Social Media block in your newsletters could cause the URI_WP_HACKED_2 error when testing emails for spamminess in the past.

That said, I ran several tests with the latest version of MailPoet (4.48.1) and the Social Media block and could not make that error appear when testing with mail-tester.com.

    Can you please:

    • create a new test email newsletter in MailPoet, not from any existing templates, and manually add a fresh Social Media block, setting up any social media links you wish to include
    • save the email and then click “preview” in the upper right corner
    • go to mail-tester.com and get a delivery email to test
    • back on your site, in the preview window, click “send a test email” and enter the mail-tester.com email address
    • load the mail-test.com results and send us the link to those results so we can view any and all errors your test email generates

    In addition, can you confirm:

    • which social media icons and links you are including in your Social Media block
    • if any of the social media links are shortlinks, for example bit.ly links or tiny url links
    • share your site’s system info here (under MailPoet > Help on the “system info” tab) so we can look for any potential errors

    Thank you!
