Spam is marked but shows up on site

    I was surprised to see that comments marked as spam just show up on my site (and it appears to be targeted by spam bots). The same is true for pending comments: they show up, their pending status notwithstanding. And I am using Bad Behavior and Spam Karma 2.3rc4. Disabling SK2 did not make a difference. Directory and file permissions seem OK (755, and 644 respectively).

    I have locked my blog down against comments and would like suggestions about what is going on and how to proceed.
