Spam in footer-Mystique Theme

    At the bottom, I noticed there is now a phrase “Comment Spam by https://nflweekpicks.com”

    Shortly after switching hosts and launching this version of the site, I was bombarded with spam comments. I marked them all as spam, and then disabled commenting on my site all together. However, I can’t remember seeing this after the spam comments, but I’m sure it surfaced at that time. I can’t find this item in the footer.php file. Is there anywhere else I should be looking to remove it?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
