Spam in Comments?

  • I set my Comments to be approved before being posted. So my question is how can I tell whether a comment is spam other than using a plugin to do it. Has anyone ever got this comment in their wordpress comments?
    “Love the website– really individual friendly and great deals to see! [Link redacted]” it was sent by LandonST at [Link redacted]

    here you can find how to mark a Comment as spam without using a plugin.

    As written in the Codex, “Comments that are marked as [spam] will be held in your database to educate “intelligent” anti-spam plugins” like Akismet.
