Spam floods & Akismet – Am I alone?

    Just recently (today and last night) I have been receiving hundreds of spam messages an hour, despite the face that I have been using Akismet since I first installed WordPress over two years ago.

    I run two blogs with WordPress. One runs 2.3.2. The other still runs a version of 2.1 because the theme version I use is not compatible with 2.3 and I have not yet upgraded. Both are being affected by this problem.

    Is there something happening with Akismet that I don’t know about? I haven’t upgraded that plugin for some time. Could that be the problem?
