Spam filtering is shockingly poor

Otherwise seemingly decent plugin, I have become annoyed dealing with recurring spam subscribers despite enabling all the security features, including totally ineffective mathematical captcha that takes up the whole screen (and is not mobile-friendly). I also contacted the developer about this issue only to be ignored. Ultimately, I replaced the plugin with MailChimp implementation and haven’t seen a single spam subscriber since!
