    Hi kwm229,

    There is an option to deactivate the comments/contact form for listings, but that is mostly a last resort for this kind of thing. We also integrate with reCAPTCHA but you need the public/private keys installed on your Directory Admin->Manage Options, General tab.

    You can also block users by country and IP address if you know where the spam is coming from using 3rd party plugins. I find a ton coming from Russia, China and Pakistan myself. Your mileage may vary on that.

    I can say from experience that even with the strongest spam countermeasures installed, it still gets through. There are honest to goodness humans that actually create spam these days (can you imagine what a fun job that is?). There’s little to defend against that, unfortunately.
