Spam Count Decrease Automatically?

    Hi,

    Yesterday I check the comments on my blog and mark some of them as spams. In the header of the “comments” page, I can see the count of all comments, pending comments, approved comments, spam comments and trash comments. So I write down the spam count (216) after I marked all the spam comments. But today when I login to the blog again and check the spam count, I find it is decreased to 112. Why?

    I have installed and activated Akismet. Will it decrease the spam count automatically?

  • Hi Chcw,

    Akismet deletes spam in the spam folder automatically after it is older than 15 days. You will see in the settings: “Note: Spam in the spam folder older than 15 days is deleted automatically.”

    In the future you should ask these kind of questions in the support forum of the plugin itself.
