Spam control

  • I cannot find any of the menus described in the help topics that allow me to control spam on my site. I cannot find an administrative / settings menu. I am getting tons of spam comments and would like toenter key words and especially target languages other than English. Where do I go on my Word Press Daashboard to find these settings and what do you suggest as effective tools? I already approve all comments before they post because our site is designed to be used primarily by young music students elementary through high school. THANKS!

  • There is a plugin called Akismet that comes with the WP install. Activate it!
    Also look for the plugin called Bad Behavior and install it.
    Alternally to Akismet, there are plenty of anti spam plugins in the plugins directory or this website (click “extend” above).
