Spam comments still being posted even tho disabled

  • Hi all.

    I’ve disabled comments in WP Admin and also deleted wp-comments-post.php. However, somehow spammers are managing to post their filth on my web site. Each day I log into WP Admin there are always a bunch of spam comments which need reviewing.

    How is this possible, and what can I do to stop it.

  • if you have deleted wp-comments.php, then they arent comments. theyre trackbacks or pingbacks.

    the solution is to disable those, as well.

    Trackbacks and pings disabled. wp-comments-post.php deleted. Comments disabled. Still they are managing to post comments.

    How is this possible?

    can we get a link to a page where one is displayed?

    They are queuing up in the moderation section of WP-ADMIN waiting for approval.

    Here is a screenshot with the links painted out so the scumbags don’t get any airplay here. I have comments, trackbacks and pingbacks disabled globally and on the article as you can see and I’ve also deleted the actual comments.php file, and still these scumbags are managing to post their filth.

    How is this possible and how can this be fixed?
