    Hi Guys,
I’m getting comments on my blog posts which look like spam but without any links. My question is why would people do this and is there any benefit to me keeping them i.e. improving my google ranking? or does it somehow only help them out? Also would there be any negative effects from leaving the comments there?
    Here is an example: https://www.energyforlife.net.au/machines-vs-free-weights/

    Thankyou ??

you can install the Anti-Spam (that’s the name. I know :)) that will filter 99.9% of spam automatically without you ever seeing it.

If you want to receive email notification when a spam comment is posted read the read me file of the plugin that will tell you to set ‘true’ a line in the PHP file to email notification to admin. It’s fairly obvious.

The plugin has no settings and works straight away. Please note this is ONLY for comments on the blog, it does not work on contact forms and other forms.

P.S. I have no affiliation to the plugin author, I just use it and it works really well for me
