Spacing Issues in Excerpt

I really like this plugin but I’m having an issue with spacing of the excerpt. It seems to be missing some of the spaces after periods so some sentences are smushed together. For example: “Need some confidence boosting tips on how to hang art?Yup. I do too.What is it about hanging art on our walls that feels so daunting?Is…” It seems to have something to do with not reading returns as a space and thus sticks the first word from the next paragraph onto the previous one.
