Hi! Loving this plugin! When I go back to edit an existing saved tab, the paragraph spacing I’d created has gone, so I need to add all the paragraph spaces again.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @asnowstorm!

    I’m glad you’re enjoying the plugin ??

I think the issue you’re having is common with all of the editors in WordPress – empty space via paragraph tags are always wiped out. You could test this by copying the content of one of your saved tabs into a standard post and seeing if your spacing is lost and publishing/updating.

Also, Would you mind going to one of your tabs, going to the text editor, and copying & pasting the content of your tab into your comment? Perhaps there is something funky with the HTML.

    Thanks,
    Kevin.

Thanks for getting back to me. Here’s an example from text:

Signed A3 plant print, printed onto thick FSC certified 300GSM IPS uncoated art paper.

    Fits into a standard frame.
    <h3></h3>
    <h3>Delivery & Returns</h3>
Posted flat, in a sturdy hard backed cello envelope.

My idea was a bad one: it’s hard to see the HTML because it’s getting changed with the reply textarea. Would you mind sending a screenshot instead? A screenshot like this: https://imgur.com/a/cRrM0

Here are a couple of tab screenshots, they don’t actually show much code, particulary not for line breaks (ie no npsb;). I made the line breaks with carriage return, rather than nbsp; as I had so much trouble with that being stripped in my main product texts.

    Hi @asnowstorm,

Try adding a <br> into the text editor where you want a line break. That should force the editor to use a line break rather than it ‘guessing’ a link break based on carriage returns.

Let me know if that works!

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

Thanks for the tip. That leaves a visible >br> in the tab though?

It’s probably a copy and paste issue. Try removing it and then typing it out manually on the text tab. Once you’ve done that, you should be able to switch to the visual tab and see your line breaks (as line breaks – not the <br> nonsense).

Ah yes now I just typed it in. BUT, it still strips it when I go back in!

    You’re right! What’s going on?!

When I enter multiple line breaks in a normal post, it adds &nbsp; and these are saved when you update.

When I enter multiple line breaks into a saved tab, it does not add &nbsp; and the line breaks aren’t saved. When I manually enter &nbsp; (or <br>) into a tab, they don’t save.

This is more complicated than I thought; I will investigate it more ??

    Cheers,
    Kevin.

Just so you know, there is a work around for this issue. You can use CSS and set a margin which will act like a line break.

    Hello Kevin
Love the plugin. I am considering upgrading to Pro to get global tabs.
I see the work around on the spacing issue, but is a fix in mind for next plugin update?

    Hi @lukechiodo,

We haven’t figured out this issue yet. No one else has reported it though so I don’t think other people are having problems with it. I can write it down so we’ll re-investigate this before our next release.

    Cheers,
    Kevin.
