Spacing Between Testimonial Text and Name

Here’s what I would do for yours:

For a one-liner, try this:

    display: none; /* plugin shows content by default */

    float: left;
    margin-right: 1em;
  }

This looks promising, Chris! I never expect that you’d do custom work, and honestly thought that maybe it would involve reducing some padding somewhere. I’ll give this a shot! Thanks!

Thanks for posting a link. Your theme has a custom CSS function under Appearance > Theme Options. You might also add

#wpmtst-form label ~ span.required {
  margin: 0;
}

to fix the red “Required” symbols.

I’ve had some feedback that the [strong] shortcode options can be overwhelming, especially for those new to WordPress, so be sure to check out the demo and please don’t hesitate to ask for help – though you should start a new thread if you do ??

And I would be remiss not to point out that if the custom CSS section starts to get unwieldy, you should consider a child theme.

Yes, all that goes into your custom CSS or a child theme’s stylesheet. One or both? Try it and see, every theme is different.

The mini reset section above worked great for me in reducing the amount of blank space, thanks! The code also makes the name and company a single line (perhaps unintended?)

If I change the code below to display: block, I see that it will display on 2 lines again, which is the preference, unless the bold name and company link are displayed inline with the testimonial content itself. If I need to do that, and use the code you supplied above, do I leave out parts of the mini reset code? If I leave in all of the mini reset, what happens is that the testimonials title/client name/company are ALL that shows, none of the testimonial itself displays.

So it seems I don’t quite understand what you’re trying to do.

If you are trying to show testimonials using two different layouts on the same page then this global CSS is the wrong approach (except for the mini reset). We should consider using excerpts when you want “the bold name and company link are displayed inline with the testimonial content itself” and individual CSS classes.

Chris, do you know where the custom css file is stored in the WP structure? I’ve done some searching and can’t place it.
