Spaces deleted inside <code> blocks

Hi

I’m trying to post some source code on my blog but I have all the spaces at the beginning of a line deleted.

May I humbly suggest that this is a misfeature and at least spaces shouldn’t be trimmed inside blocks, and even not at all anywhere?
