Space between the first item and subsequent items.

The problem is that there is a large space between the first item and subsequent items in a list.

Looking at Firebug, there is a <p> </p> tag wrapped around the first name only. This is not on the text page and I do not know how to get rid of it and the space.
Anybody please.
