• I’m new to editing a blog. The source code for my blog has a large block of info about drugs with links that I did not put there. It doesn’t show up on the blog, but it did show up on a Google search. I want it removed and cannot find out how to remove it. Please let me know what to do. EArlier I posted this problem with the first line of the unauthorized content. Maybe that’s why the blog overseer closed my question. So here I’m trying again without the content.

<u style=’display:none’> News: Sensation!!! [The huge block of wrong content is here in the source code]

Please help! My WordPress blog is on yahoo and is located at: https://www.rdricketts.com/blog/

    Hi Brother_Dan,

    This is interesting.

Maybe this is coming from your RSS feeds?

Can you cut and paste the link that showed up on Google search?

If it is not showing up on your blog and has no effect on it, then it should be okay

    I’d say that’s coming from your theme’s header.php or index.php file (under /wp-content/themes/default).

You’re running a very old version of WordPress with known vulnerabilities. You will want to upgrade that blog.

Warning though: As Yahoo! is your host, it won’t be as easy as normal due to some of their custom plugins… you might want to search these forums for tips — or hire a pro to do the upgrade for you if that last sentence made you clench a little!

@serolf – spam links always have an effect, even when hidden. They should not be ignored.
