    Hello everybody.
I am writing here because I was asked to retrieve the source code and the application used to create my wordpress site.

This is for tax purposes. But beyond this motivation, it is not clear to me where to retrieve the source code.
This is not the source code of the individual pages, but the site engine. Which, in turn, is done by WordPress and some other plugins.

Can anyone help me on how to find the source code and application of a site?

Hoping to have your support, thank you!

Download a copy of wordpress from https://www.remarpro.com. The unzipped .zip file is your “source code” for WordPress.

    Thank you @sterndata !
It’s seems easier than I thought.

In order to give a complete “source code” for my whole website, should I attach even the codes of themes and plugins?
In my experience, nothing of this have ever happen. Maybe you have some experience like that and you can give me this last hint.

    Thank you!

You should find out what’s needed for your tax purposes. We are not able to offer tax or legal advice; nor should you take *any* tax or legal advice from anyone other than a trusted professional in those areas.

Of course I didn’t mean to ask here a legal advice.

My purpose was just to understand if it’s correct to collect all the wordpress-theme-plugins file to obtain the whole “source code” of my website.

    Thank you again ??

I don’t know. Probably? I’d just make a backup of the site’s files and hand it off, but I’ve never heard of this request.

Thank you anyawy! that’s a complete mistery. They ask about native code but can’t explain me what they mean. I will find a solution one day. I hope. Thank you for your patience. Have a nice day!
