Source code embedding with line numbers

    I am just wondering how to incorporate this functionality myself. Is it a plugin? Is it magic? What is it?

    The source code can be selected, but the line numbers stay put.
    I have searched, but to no avail, and made more difficult by the fact that the search terms “source” and “code” return many different kinds of results.
