• Simply installing and activating Fast Velocity Minify (then clearing the site cache) broke the site. I’m using a Divi 3.0.33 child theme with WordPress 4.7.2. It probably works great after spending time tweaking the settings and finding the right sequence and location for minified files, but there are other plugins that work well out of the box for me. Your mileage may vary. This is probably a great plugin — it just didn’t work for my needs.

If there are other plugins that work better for you, you should use them.

What I can tell you (and anyone), is that I extensively use this plugin with Divi and Woocommerce in multiple sites and it works out of the box. Obviously, if you have a modified theme or use poorly coded plugins, the plugin might not do exactly what you need and I doubt any other plugins will… but like I said, if they work better you should use them.

Also before giving a poor(er) review, perhaps you could have opened a support thread. As you can see, I am very responsive and it’s not the first time I have configured the plugin for other people free of charge.

    Hi, Raul,

Thank you for your prompt reply. I’ve changed my rating of this plugin from 2 to 3 stars because of the fast response to me and looking through the support tickets, it looks like you offer fast support.

Please let me clarify. I didn’t leave my review to be mean. My apologies if my review was construed as a negative one. It was intended to to be more informational for users of Divi theme. There are many out there and as one of them, it didn’t work for me which I tried to be clear about in my original review. The child theme isn’t so much modified as it is a way to rename the theme in the Admin panel.

I chose another plugin — one that works for me out of the box. I did you the courtesy of not naming it here. I don’t have the time to troubleshoot the plugin on my Divi installs. I appreciate the care and pride you show for this plugin and would consider it for my other non-Divi installs.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

That being said, thank you very much for clarifying your point of view.

There’s a faq section that explains how to troubleshoot and myself, I’m available to configure things for people that need help. In the future, kindly let me know if you want to give it another try and I’ll tweak the settings for you.

Thanks for the review change also.

There is no plugin that works out of the box for every user (of that plugin). There are always some exceptions, though, such as Hello Dolly.

WordPress itself is a community project where people contribute code to make things better for everyone *else*.

Reviewing plugin based on the quality of code, or based on the availability of automated tests, is okay.

The other users who may use Divi theme may use a different set of plugins (or a different server setup) that may work fine with this plugin. For the time one spends to write a destructive or informational review, if he / she sends a report to the plugin author (by mentioning the plugins used, the server setup, etc), that would actually help *everyone* who may use Divi theme in the future.

The WordPress eco system could not have grown so much, if users hadn’t reported any bugs!

If anyone thinks that he / she is part of such a great community effort, please send a report to the plugin / theme author.

Again, please review the plugin based on the quality of the code or how user friendly it is. Some plugins use hundreds of options. Some use only a handful.

Please stop reviewing a plugin because it didn’t work for some reason on a particular site!

Hi, just to let you know we have a new CSS processing logic and new features that could have sorted this out on v1.4.5. Kindly take a look if you have some time.
