SoundCloud code doesn't work on my theme

Does it work on a default theme (i.e. twentyfourteen) with no plugins active?

I got the code from soundcloud, as I click on “share” and then “embed”, then “wordpress code”

I also tried on twentyfourteen, but doesn’t work either.

I’ve tried the first two plugins on the list, but I can’t use them because the content I wanna share is “private”, and just doesn’t show up there.

I’ve discussed it with SoundCloud as well, they tried it on wordpress and sent me a sample and it actually works. Moreover I also remember it worked weeks ago, is that because of an update I did? I updated wordpress. There still the chance to update the theme itself, shall I try?

You made need to update the theme. I would just get the soundcloud shortcode plugin. I use it on a site I manage for a music engineer and it’s very reliable.

I just activated the soundcloud shortcode plugin, as Tali suggested me. How can I use it then? would you be so kind to tell me step by step? that would be awesome

if you have the latest version of wordpress, soundcloud can be embedded by simply pasting its link, no need to use any embed codes.
