Have a question that perhaps somebody more experienced can help me with.

My shop is composed by the work of many different painters whose artworks are shown as products (t-shirts and related apparel basically).

I have a page where all those authors are listed by the art movement they belong to: https://artteeshop.com/collections/

What I would like to do is to create a page for each author where only his/her artworks are shown in the form of products.
In other words, would like to sort products by author.

This way, when a visitor clicks on an author’s name will be presented with a shop page/products list pertaining to that particular author only.

Ideally, each author’s product page should update itself automatically when adding new artworks/products to it.

How could I achieve this? Perhaps through a plugin?

I can see the whole thing in my mind but can’t come up with a simple implementation through Woocommerce tools and options.

Every suggestion will be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. I’m new to Woocommerce as you may have guessed.

  • Hi moore4art!

In this case, I would recommend creating tags on the products according to the ‘Author’, and then you can add them wherever you want.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks very much, Juan G.!
Forgot to mention before that the theme I use is fully compatible with Elementor builder – not tested with Elementor Pro.

Let me see if I understand you correctly with an example.
    1- I create a page named Picasso.
2- Add the Picasso tag to each product by this author.
3- The page created earlier will exhibit all products/products images by Picasso.

Am I missing something or this is correct?

    Thanks a lot again.

You’re welcome. I’m happy to help.

When you create a tag your theme must have a template to automatically show an archive page for the created tag.

If you are using Elementor Pro you can create your own custom Tag archive page overriding your theme’s template:

I hope you find this info useful!

Yes, thanks to your suggestion I’ve managed to do it by simply adding tags to group products together by author using a widget, like in this example: https://artteeshop.com/vincent-van-gogh/

    Thanks again for your help.

I’ll mark this thread as resolved now. If you have any further questions, I recommend creating a new thread.
