I opened this topic a year or more ago and neglected to follow up, so the topic ended up being closed. Here’s the story: I use a lot of upcycled boxes in my business — the stuff I sell (antique tools) varies a lot in size, so buying a few different sizes of box doesn’t cover the case. Plus, woodworkers are generally environmentalists who appreciate the reuse of packaging, and it also saves me money. The result is that I have a list of 20 to 40 sizes of box that I use. It would really be useful to sort them by size, first by length, then by width, and then by height. A screenshot of my current box list appears below (I also offer priority mail boxes). As you can see, it’s a real nuisance to pick through the list looking to see if the box I’m using is already on the list. It would be *very* helpful if the box list was sorted, starting with length, and then width, and then height. Is it possible to redo the code that makes the box list so that it would sort the list?

Here’s the list of packages (sorry for the duplicated entries, but you get the idea):

    Hi @tbruce,

Unfortunately, WooCommerce does not have this feature built-in. However, you can achieve this by using a custom code.

For reference, these particular forums are meant for general support with the core functionality of WooCommerce itself. For development and custom coding questions, it’s best to ask for insight related to those on either the WooCommerce Advanced Facebook group or the WooCommerce Community Slack. Many of our developers hang out there and will be able to offer insights into your question. You can also seek help from the following:

I wish I could help more, but hopefully, this gets you going in the right direction to get the job done.

Hey there. We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – we’ll be here if and/or when you are ready to continue.

I don’t mind writing custom code to fix this oversite but I cannot work out where the packages are stored in the database.

Hey @jglazer63 – Thanks for chiming in. Seeing as this thread has now been marked as resolved due to inactivity, please open a new one and we can pick things up from there.

As a sidenote: The original thread here referred to packages but this isn’t a feature of the core WooCommerce plugin. When opening a thread, please make sure that it forms part of the WooCommerce plugin.
