Sorting on grid is not rememberred

When I create a grid on a page and add media to it, any kind of sorting I add to the media files, whether it be date descending, name, or custom sorting etc. will not be remembered when I next click on the block.

Any time I go to edit a simply grid block later, it updates the gallery and defaults to sort by upload date descending.

This is very inconvenient any time I want to add a photo or make a change, I may have to go and resort the remaining 40 to 80 photos in the block.
