Sorting function not working properly with merged cells table

    Hi There,

    I have a table which has merged cells, and I am guessing because of the merged cells, the sorting function isn’t working properly. Whenever I press one of the up or down arrows, this causes my table to change shape and for the cells to move to a different location.

    Is it possible to sort a table with merged cells? Is it possible to manually set what fields/ cells should be looked at for sorting?

    Additionally, I am also getting this error msg:

    “The page at thatmoneystuff.siterubix.com says:

    DataTables warning: table id=tablepress-2 – Requested unknown parameter ‘1’ for row 1. For more information about this error, please see https://datatables.net/tn/4″

    I only get this error msg when I have the sort function switched on.

    I am trying to create a list of credit cards and it would help if the user can sort through the info given.

    Hi,

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    This is expected here, I’m afraid. The external DataTables JS library from https://www.datatables.net/ which TablePress uses for the sorting function, does not support tables with merged/combined cells ??
    You will have to choose what’s more important for you: The sorting feature or the merging of cells.
    Sorry for not having better news here, but unfortunately, there’s nothing that I can do about this.
