Is there a provision in WooPayments to route transactions to two separate accounts, sorted by Product Category?

We would like to send payments for one Category of Products to a dedicated bank/credit-card account, and those for all other Categories to another dedicated bank/credit-card account.

    Is this possible?

    Hi there

Currently, WooPayments does not natively support the functionality to route transactions to two separate accounts based on product categories. The plugin is designed to process all transactions through a single bank account for simplicity and ease of management.

Feel free to upvote for this feature to be considered in the next releases of the plugin – https://woo.com/feature-request/multiple-bank-accounts/.

However, there is a workaround to achieve what you’re looking for. One possible solution could be to use two different payment gateways. You can set one payment gateway for one product category and another gateway for the other categories. Each payment gateway can be linked to a different bank account.

Another alternative could be to use a third-party plugin or hire a developer to customize the functionality for you. Please note that any modifications would be outside the scope of our support and we recommend working with a WooCommerce expert to ensure that any changes do not conflict with existing functionalities.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks for this suggestion!

Can you please briefly explain how to assign a Product Category to a second payment gateway?

    Thanks!

    Hey @jeffrey2915,

    Great question!

One way to achieve this would be to use conditional logic to restrict the payment options available on your store.

The Conditional Shipping and Payments extension can do the trick. With this extension, you are able to conditionally restrict or hide?payment gateways by product or product category.

WooCommerce.com offers a 30-day refund policy which you can take advantage of, allowing you to test the extension, and make sure that it suits your needs.

Should you have any pre-sales-related questions, kindly contact us directly at WooCommerce.com → My Account → Support. You will need to create an account if you do not have one already.

    Hope this helps!
