Sorry for the delay, your message somehow slipped through.
There is no plan to add a settings page to this plugin for various reasons – which otherwise would allow for sorting options.
However, you should be able to use the code snippet from your given link via a plugin called “Code Snippets” (which is Multisite compatible!). Please not the comment there for PHP 7+ and the tweaked snippet there.
What I would be able to do, is the following:
Adding the code snippet from above into my plugin and have it enabled via a filter or a constant. That is much easier than adding the snippet yourself.
The future plan is this:
I am currently developing an Add-On plugin for Multisite for my “Toolbar Extras” plugin which will have a settings page and this will have such a sorting option then by default. I cannot give a release date or anything yet, other than late 2019 or later in 2020.
