Sort products on Popularity and Custom combined (some custom products on top)

    I have my products ordered on popularity: See here.
    I like to do this automatically since I have thousands of products and sorting on popularity is the best.
    But I have a few items I would like to stand out on the rest, even though they are not the most popular. So I want those products on top while the rest is sorted on popularity.

    I thought I can do this by setting the ordering to ‘Order by Popularity’ and then on product level go to ‘Advanced > Menu Order’ and set a lower number to the products I want to highligt.
    But there is no change when I look at the front.

    Does anybody have a suggestion?
