Sort order last modified?

  • I’m trying to figure out how to get just one category to be sorted in the order of date modified. Don’t know if that is possible, is there a plugin or hack to do this? I just want it done for one category, although if adding a drop down sort option for all categories is available, that is okay, as long as it has a last modified sort option.

    If anyone can help, if there is already a plugin(s) that will do this, maybe I’m just not searching the right terms to find them, I appreciate any help I can get.

  • A combination of a custom category template with a custom query should do it. You can find a list of all of the possible query parameters – including orderby date modified on this Codex page.

    If anyone has done this before using a plugin or manually, please give me some directions. I’ve read about custom queries and the codex page but am still so lost as how to even start.

    I said it was just for one category but if it’s easier to do it for all but I’m completely lost with this.

    Any help is appreciated.
