I have 2 events on the same date – what determines the order that they appear in?
(I understand from previous posts that this isn’t “Time”, but experimentation seems to show it isn’t category, date published, title, description or any of the other options either).

    Cheers,
    Stephen

    Hi Stephen,

When having multiple events with the same date, I first would say: they’re listed by time of publication (similar to the default dashboard listing). But, after a test I notice this is not the case here. So my temporary answer is: I don’t have a clue yet..

That was my first thought – and I did try playing with the “Publish Date”. The 2 events in question are now in the correct order – but I don’t know what I did that caused them to change. Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Cheers,

    Hi Stephen,

    I’ve found it.
In frontend it does not order on time of publication but on post id!
But only in case of multiple events with the same date of course.
    Can you live with this?

Thanks Guido, so if I can remember to post the Earliest events before the later events for the same day, I should get the poss in the correct order.

Would it be possible to alter that? So that there’s more control? Even if it’s only using “Date Published” for example, or one of the text fields (like Time or Location).

    Many thanks for your help.
    Stephen.

    Hi Stephen,

My plugin does order on event date using the orderby parameter. But I can add a second parameter, such as ‘date’ > now posts with the same event date will be ordered by post date (Date Published). Or parameter ‘title’ to list them on post title, etc.

Because event time is a regular input field I cannot order events on time, as you know.

    Hi Guido,
Sorry, my fault, I was waiting to hear that you’d added a second parameter to OrderBy. That would be very useful if you can make the change.

    Regards,
    Stephen.

    Hi Stephan,

Sorry, did not notice your last response. I will look into this, and if this isn’t difficult to include I will add this in next version.
