  • Hi murieldb,

For sorting the categories list in the sidebar:
Please go to the “Categories” tab in your plugin admin area and drag and drop the individual categories to arrange them in the order you want them to display.

For sorting the categories under main catalogue container area:
Please go to that catalog under “Catalogs” tab in your plugin admin area and add the categories by selecting them and clicking on “Add to Catalog” button. This will organize your products on your catalog pages under the categories they are in. You can then drag and drop the categories in the order you want to sort them or simply click on “Sort Items Alphabetically (A-Z)” to sort alphabetically.

Once you have made your changes, please make sure you save the settings for the changes to take effect. If it still does not, check if you have any caching plugin installed and try to clear the cache so that the changes could take effect immediately.

    Hello,

    Thanks for your reply.
My problem is under main catalogue container area.
I did a test: I installed product catalog on a new wordpress. There are no other extensions than product catalog. I created a catalog with 4 categories.
Again, no way to order categories. Neither by the alphabetical sorting button nor by dragging / dropping and yes, I take care to save the settings. I emptied the caches, but it does not work. I tested on several browsers, with different wordpress themes.
    Thanks for your help

    Hi @murieldb,

Could you try sorting the products within each category?

    You can follow these steps:
1.) Click on the “Categories” tab
    2.) Choose a category
3.) Click on “sort items Alphabetically (A-Z)” or “Sort Items Alphabetically (A-Z)Sort Items Reverse Alphabetically (Z-A)”
    4.) Click on “Save Changes”

    Hello,
My catalog is organized as follows

It contains categories in which subcategories are associated. The products are associated with the subcategories.

    in “visual”, this gives
    Catalog> Categories> sub categories> product

catalog, categories and subcategories do not fit in alphabetical order.

the products are well sorted in alphabetical order

    Hi @murieldb,

Could you provide me a link to your site?

If you don’t want to publish the link here, you can email it to us at [email protected] (just make sure to reference this thread when you do).

From my understanding you are trying to sort products within sub-categories. On my site (view screenshot), I was able to sort products within my sub-category “Latest”, which has a parent category “Cars”.

I was able to do that by choosing “Sort Items Alphabetically (A-Z)” on the parent category.

    Furthermore, I was able to:

    • Sort categories in reverse order (Z-A) in my catalog
    • Sort products in order (A-Z) for the first category
    • Sort products in reverse order (Z-A) for the second category

    Hello,

I can not send you a link because it’s a local model on my machine.

I have 5 categories on the first page of my catalog that do not “want” to put in the alphabetical order or the desired order.

When I go into a category, I have subcategories, which again do not necessarily fit in alphabetical order

On the other hand, in the subcategories, I have products, and here they rank well in alphabetical order.

My problem is that I can not put the categories and subcategories in order.

I also need a solution for categories and subcategories to be displayed alphabetically.

    Hi @c77,

    For the sorting,

    • Within a catalog, the drag and drop feature allows you to manually sort products or categories. You can also sort alphabetically (A-Z or Z-A).
You can find this here: Catalogs tab > Choose a catalog
Make sure to click on the “Edit Catalog” button once you’re done making changes to the catalog.
