Menu order is a column in the “posts” table that controls a page’s position in dynamically-generated nav menus.

Although it is not widely used any more for this purpose (you can arrange menus from the Menus admin), it is fairly common for plugins to use this field to enable custom sorting.

By default, it is only editable from “pages” and other post types that support “page-attributes.”

    Thank you!
Is there any other way to give a certain order by hand for posts?

The current workaround is to use the “Start Date” custom field and sort by “Start Date”.

The “IntelliWidget Custom Fields” metabox appears on the lower right of the Edit Post admin. If it is not showing, click “Screen Options” at the top right and check “IntelliWidget Custom Fields.”

I am working on a way to integrate menu_order universally in a coming version.

Has this menu_order been added yet?

    Thanks.
