Hi. We have a long list of files uploaded to a subfolder. All the files are appearing in the order in which they were uploaded, leaving a summary document at the bottom. When I go to settings, it says that the files are supposed to appear in descending order according to file name.

Is there a way to fix this so that at the least the files are sorted by name order?

Ideally, we would like to be able to set a custom order based upon importance, but we can change the file names to achieve this if necessary.

    Thanks for your help

If you goto options > settings > Default Sort Options > Order Types: select File Name

then check the option “Disable User Sort” that should get you the results you are looking for.

Hi. Thank you for your reply. I have tried following your directions but the file list is still appearing in the order in which the documents were uploaded.

Im not sure why the setting arn’t working for you. If you change these setting does it effect the dashboard as well. Can you confirm that the same results happen in the frontend as well as the dashboard.

Are you asking whether the documents are still in date order in the dashboard as well as the front end? If so, yes, the documents stay in date order in both views no matter what I do to the settings. When I change the box that says “hide sortbar” that setting can be changed.

If this sort issue can’t be fixed, can we move the files into new subfolders without losing the current download data?

Moving the files around from folder to folder will keep all data.

As for the issue, I’m still looking into it but I can recreate the problem as of yet.
