I would like to customize the archives page of an already made custome post type. But, I can’t for the life of me figure out how to do that. The archives page only displays my custom post types regardless of their assigned taxonomy. Thank you in advance.

    Hi @younes221

The archives page only displays my custom post types regardless of their assigned taxonomy.

The default archive page of a CPT always shows all posts in that CPT. You can create a custom taxonomy to categorize posts.

    Hello Jory Hogeveen,
Thanks for the reply, what you suggested is exactly what I have a done; I created a custom taxonomy and linked it with its custom post type. The problem is that the custom post type page does not sort those those custom post types via taxonomies. To clarify, I created a custom post type called CELEBRITIES and linked it to a taxonomy called STARS, my intention is that within the CELEBRITIES custom post I want to have child custom post types called STARS and within the STARS taxonomy I would like to have posts that are dedicated to a single star (tom cruise as an example). Thanks in advance.

    Hi @younes221

Sorry, you mention Stars both as a custom post type AND a custom taxonomy. I’m not 100% sure fully understand your current structure.

From context of your messages I would think that a “Star” actually is the same as a “celebrity” right?
I’m not sure how you would categorize “celebrities” with “stars”.

    Let me know!
    Cheers, Jory
