For some time now, after some update of WordPress or one of the plugins I use, including EDD, customers who have placed an order see an error message on the page with the [edd_receipt] shortcode and cannot download the purchased files because the download link is not shown. This only happens with NOT LOGGED IN customers. If someone is logged in, the [edd_receipt] shortcode just shows the links to the files.

I have read the entire internet and found many pages with this problem but no solutions. Problems have been reported since 2012. I just can’t find a solution.

I have temporarily solved it by removing the [edd_receipt] shortcode from the page and directing my customers to the email they receive with the download link(s) on the page. They can then download it from their email. But that is, of course, a nice workaround but not a real solution.

It worked flawlessly on my site for years, but now suddenly it doesn’t anymore, and I can’t figure out what is causing the error. I have already tried two previous versions of EDD, which didn’t work. I have enabled Debug mode, but it doesn’t show any errors.

I hope someone has a solution!

Hello @ammo69 . I would recommend confirming you don’t have caching enabled on your order confirmation page, the page with [edd_receipt].

If that doesn’t explain it, could you please open a support ticket using the page here?https://easydigitaldownloads.com/support?

We’ll need more details about your site to understand what is happening.
