  • Yes, Andrew, Cuta was entitled to post whatever he wanted here as long as it wasn’t spam, etc. No one here stated otherwise. We simply disagreed with his posting for support in the Reviews area and asked why he would not detail his problem with the plugin so others could help.

IMO, it was unfair for him to complain that he didn’t get any help when he refused to specify his problem and refused to use the Support forum. There is ample proof in this thread that Cuta was asked about his issue and was offered helpful info and links.

I believe reviews are meant to provide constructive feedback for the plugin author, as well as to help users decide if the plugin is right for them. Cuta’s review accomplished neither of these objectives, especially since his original (one-star) review contained no details and was his first and only attempt at seeking support.

    already answered this in here

I asked the help a couple of weeks ago but no one helped me back then. I admit I asked the help in the rating section, I would have asked the help before rating. however, I didn’t get any reply to my question in my review for weeks and it’s poor support. so how come you expect me to rate it 5/5? if I was asked what is the issue, I would have explained it but no one asked me. now you got it?

oh and you think other positive feedbacks are constructive ?as an example one guy said
I’ve just figured out why I always needed this plugin By xusht, October 1, 2015 for WP 4.3.1
    lightbulb ??

now it’s very clear that you are trying to remove my rate. a mod showed up in here suddenly and it also explained that you might probably complain them to remove my rate. you don’t complain in other people’s review saying they are constructive but in here you complain my review isn’t constructive.

especially since his original (one-star) review contained no details and was his first and only attempt at seeking support.

the one start rate was my fault so that’s why I removed it. I gave this plugin 3 stars for “poor support” because I asked the help in my review but I wasn’t asked what is the problem. if I was asked I would have explained.

Cuta, I did not complain to any moderator to remove your rating, nor did I ask you to do so. I believe the moderator chimed in entirely of his own volition, and he said absolutely nothing about removing your rating. On the contrary, he stated you can submit any review you choose as long as it does not contain spam, etc.

I also don’t see where anyone here asked you to rate the plugin positively. You were only asked to give details regarding your issues with the plugin so others could help. I expressed my opinion as to the fairness of your rating, your refusal to provide any details, and your choosing to post here rather than in the Support forum. I am entitled to my opinion just as you are entitled to yours.

And yes, I would agree there are many reviews, both positive and negative, that don’t provide enough specific info to make them truly helpful and constructive. That is true both here and on countless other websites that provide review capabilities.

I am not gonna argue with you again because this argument makes me very distress. since I rated for poor support. I will rate it 5/5 when author came back to support her plugin. thank you.

    I’m shutting this down, sorry.

A review is an opinion. Cuta left his opinion, and then for some reason the validity of that opinion was debated for 4 whole weeks, leaving Cuta to have to defend *his own opinion* 8 whole times.

It doesn’t really matter what you think of Cuta’s opinion here, but that ^^ is ridiculous.

A negative review is an opportunity to improve the product, because the reviewer can always change the rating later. How you respond to a negative review is far more important than any 5-star review.
